Generally, most recruiters won’t tell you the company name or share a job spec with you prior to having a call. You might think that they’re being rude by withholding such vital and relevant information about the role however, this is not the case. Recruiters have valid reasons for not divulging/disclosing all the details about a role immediately which we will discuss below.

Understanding Your ‘Why’?

We must first diagnose the problem before prescribing a solution…..that is, we need to understand why you are considering your career options and what search parameters you’d like us to undertake a search for you.

Recruiters want to have a human conversation with you over the phone to better understand you as a person, your personality, motivations, wants and desires. This is also your opportunity to share with the recruiter what exactly you are looking for in your ideal next role.

Your LinkedIn profile won’t inform the recruiter that you want to move away from your current industry, get more involved in Content and work from home 4 days a week, but you can. Then we know this fully on-site role with a multinational Pharma company is not in-line with what you’re looking for.

However, in a month’s time when we are supporting a well-known Irish brand in their search for a Content Marketing Manager willing to offer remote working 4 days a week, you’ll be the first to receive a call.

Confidentiality

Just as we would not share your profile with a client without your consent, we offer clients the same level of confidentiality. Our clients trust us with their brand and it’s our responsibility to respect and protect it.

With that in mind, we don’t broadcast to every potential candidate who the client is as way of protecting their employer’s brand. It may also be the case that we are searching for a replacement for a candidate who may not yet be aware that they are being released from their contract.

Cultural Match

It’s easy to find a group of candidates whose skills match the job descriptions; AI can do that part. The most difficult part of recruitment is ensuring a strong cultural match between both client and candidate That’s where we come in.

We first have an in-depth conversation with the client to gain a deeper understanding of their business and culture. Equally, it is essential to have a similar conversation with candidates. By gaining a deeper understanding of you as an individual and your personality, we can match you with an employer whose culture will enable you to thrive.

We have seen fantastic candidates join great businesses and underperform due to a cultural incompatibility.

We Offer a Full Picture

Just as your CV won’t reveal everything about you, a job ad or company website won’t reveal everything about them. We have had the in-depth call with clients and can share insights and details that simply won’t be found on a job ad.

As proven many times here at Connexus, you may be interested in the role but just not know it until you get the full picture which the recruiter can paint.
