We would like to offer you the results of our recent Talent Sentiment Survey.
The Talent Sentiment Survey investigated how digital, marketing, design and data professionals are currently feeling in relation to job satisfaction, remote working and their hopes for the future.
Question 1: Overall, how satisfied are you in your current job?
In a great testament to Irish employers, 70% of respondents are either satisfied or highly satisfied in their current jobs while 23% are dissatisfied and 5% are highly dissatisfied.
With the year that we have had employers have risen to the challenge to, for the most part, ensure the well-being of their employees.
Question 2: As a result of remote working, do you feel disconnected from your team and colleagues?
In an almost even split, 45.45% answered ‘Yes’ while 43.64% answered ‘No’. The remainder of the respondents offered some insight by leaving a comment. The overall feeling among the comments being that they feel connected to their immediate team but not with the wider company and other departments.
Question 3: Do you feel that you and your contributions are valued by your manager?
In another testament to Irish employers, just over 66% answered Yes. Even when faced with the challenge of adapting to remote working and managing teams it seems we have risen to the challenge.
Question 4: Do you intend on moving job in 2021?
37.5% answered ‘Yes’ that they do intend on moving job in the next year while a further 25% said that they were open to a move if the right opportunity presented itself. The final 37.5% of respondents answered ‘No’.
Question 5: Do you intend on increasing the size of your team in 2021?
Take it from us here at Connexus Recruit that this year brought with it many challenges but one major challenge for us was the introduction of Hiring Freezes.
Looking forward it is our opinion that next year will be a big year as companies make up for lost time. Our survey also supports this as 46.43% stated that they are planning on increasing the size of their team while only 12.5% said that they were not. The question was not applicable to our remaining 40%.
Question 6: In the future, what would be your preferred way of working.
The general consensus seems to be that working primarily from home with the occasional day in the office is the preferred new way of working with 55% of respondents opting for this option. As well as this, 25% stated that they would prefer to work remotely full-time with no office days.
3.5% would opt to return to the full-time 5 days a week in the office while 28.5% wish to work primarily in the office with one or two remote days a week.
Question 7: How would you rate your performance working remotely compared to in the office?
90% of those asked said that they believe they are equally if not more productive while working remotely in comparison to 10% who admitted they believe that their performance has dipped while working from home.
