Role Overview
Marketing Operations Specialist
About the Role
A leading Irish Digital Marketing Agency is seeking a technically curious and highly organised Marketing Operations Specialist to join its growing performance marketing team.
This opportunity would suit someone who wants to understand the technology and data infrastructure behind successful marketing campaigns—not simply execute marketing activity.
You will support senior strategists across a varied portfolio of e-commerce and B2B clients, helping to connect campaign execution, conversion tracking, analytics and CRM systems. During your first few months, you will develop a strong understanding of how marketing creative, technical tracking and customer data work together to drive measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Tagging, Tracking and Analytics
- Assist with the deployment and maintenance of Google Tag Manager containers.
- Configure standard and custom events within Google Analytics 4.
- Install, test and verify tracking pixels across platforms including Meta, TikTok and Google Ads.
- Use preview, debugging and quality-assurance tools to confirm that tracking is functioning correctly before campaigns launch.
- Support e-commerce tracking implementations across platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce and custom-built checkout systems.
- Ensure purchase values, product information, currencies and other transaction data are accurately passed to advertising and analytics platforms.
- Develop knowledge of server-side tagging and Conversion APIs to support accurate, privacy-conscious measurement.
CRM Integration and Data Management
- Help connect forms, landing pages and advertising lead-generation tools with CRM platforms such as HubSpot and Salesforce.
- Support CRM pipeline mapping and lead-source attribution.
- Ensure UTM parameters, custom properties and source information are transferred accurately throughout the customer journey.
- Maintain high standards of data quality and resolve inconsistencies within marketing and CRM datasets.
- Assist with marketing automation, webhook-based integrations and closed-loop attribution.
Reporting and Campaign Support
- Produce regular performance reports and data extracts for internal teams and clients.
- Monitor metrics including Cost per Acquisition, Return on Ad Spend and sales-pipeline value.
- Support senior team members in the delivery and optimisation of performance marketing campaigns.
- Work across multiple client accounts, platforms and industry sectors while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience and Skills
- At least two years’ experience in digital marketing, marketing operations, web analytics or a marketing agency environment.
- Practical knowledge of Google Analytics 4, with certification already completed or the willingness to complete it promptly.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Confidence using functions and tools such as XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH and pivot tables.
- The ability to clean, organise and audit marketing or lead-generation data.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to move efficiently between multiple accounts and priorities.
- A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
- An interest in marketing technology, analytics and data privacy.
- Confidence reviewing or troubleshooting basic JavaScript, HTML or JSON, although software development experience is not required.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to independently learn new tools and technologies.
Professional Development
This role offers structured training and hands-on experience across a modern marketing technology stack. Over time, you will have the opportunity to develop expertise in:
- Advanced Google Tag Manager architecture.
- Data layers and custom JavaScript variables.
- Server-side tagging solutions.
- Conversion APIs and privacy-focused measurement.
- CRM automation and webhook integrations.
- Closed-loop and multi-touch attribution.
- Full-funnel performance marketing analytics.
- B2B lead-generation and e-commerce measurement.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be naturally inquisitive, analytical and motivated to understand why marketing activity performs—not just whether it performs.
You will enjoy solving technical problems, investigating data discrepancies and learning how different marketing platforms connect. You will also be comfortable managing several workstreams simultaneously and will take pride in checking your work thoroughly before it goes live.
