Role Overview
Key Account Manager – FMCG / Drinks
Dublin | Hybrid
We are recruiting a Key Account Manager to join an established national drinks business, taking ownership of key customer relationships and driving commercial growth across a broad portfolio of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
This is a commercially focused role for someone who enjoys building strong customer relationships but is equally comfortable with the numbers – sales, margin, pricing, promotions and distribution.
The role
You will be responsible for developing and growing key customer accounts, working closely with internal Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Field Sales and Distribution teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing strategic relationships with key customers and stakeholders
- Delivering sales, revenue, margin and distribution targets
- Developing customer-specific commercial and promotional plans
- Negotiating around pricing, promotions, new products and distribution opportunities
- Identifying opportunities for new product listings and increased distribution
- Developing and implementing trade activation plans and promotional calendars
- Using sales data and category insights to identify opportunities within your accounts
- Managing customer pricing and ensuring commercial plans remain profitable
- Working closely with Field Sales and Distribution to ensure strong execution at store level
- Identifying opportunities to grow the wider Key Account customer base
What we’re looking for
- We are looking for someone with at least 3 years’ relevant sales or Key Account Management experience, ideally within drinks, FMCG or a related consumer environment.
- You’ll need to be commercially strong, comfortable negotiating with customers and able to build relationships with stakeholders at different levels.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills are important, alongside the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across different internal teams.
Working arrangements
This is a genuinely hybrid and customer-facing position.
The business operates a hybrid working model, but given the nature of the role, your week will be split between customer/trade meetings, the Dublin office and working remotely.
You should expect to spend approximately 2-3 days per week in the office, depending on customer meetings and business requirements.
